چکیده

The reduction of traffic crashes, as well their socio-economic consequences, has captivated the attention safety professionals and transportation agencies. most important activity for an effective road practice is to identify hazardous roadway areas based on a spatial pattern analysis crashes evaluation crash relations with neighboring other relevant factors. For decades, researchers have adopted several techniques analyze historical (RTC) information using advanced GIS-based hot spot analysis. objective this study present GIS technique identifying spots autocorrelation four-year (2014–2017) data across Ethiopian regions, zones towns in Oromia region. considered corresponding severity values RTCs ranking areas. tool ArcGIS 10.5 was used patterns then Getis Ord Gi* statistics high low cluster zones. results showed that methods analysis, which incorporated Moran’s I incidents, index, proved be fruitful strategy spots. identified are along entrance exit from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital city, so responsible bodies management agencies should give top priority conduct thorough reduce effect RTCs.

Spatial Data Mining: Clustering of Hot Spots and Pattern Recognition

Spatial data mining is the extraction of implicit knowledge, spatial relations or other patterns not explicitly stored in spatial database. The focus of this paper is placed on the information derivation of spatial data. Geographical coordinates of hot spots in forest fire regions, which are extracted from the satellite images, are studied and used in the detection of likely fire points. Due to...

Road Traffic and PM10, PM2.5 Emission at an Urban Area in Algeria: Identification and Statistical Analysis

Air quality in greater Algiers, in Algeria was assessed analyzing aerosol particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) at a site influenced by heavy road traffic. Particulate matters were collected using a Gent sampler to characterize the atmospheric aerosol of Algiers. An Energy dispersive X ray spectrometer (EDXRF) was used to determine the heavy metal concentrations in the PM2.5 and PM10 size fractio...

statistical road classification applied to stratified spatial sampling of road traffic noise in urban areas

monitoring of road traffic noise is becoming an important issue in modern cities due to the spreading of noise pollution and the extension of monitored areas. thus, the stratified spatial sampling is frequently applied to reduce the costs and provide adequate accuracy in order to obtain reliable noise maps. the definition of the strata in the sampling may refer to the legislative classification...
